About New Mexico In Depth’s lobbyist data

Print More

New Mexico In Depth downloaded web pages from the New Mexico Secretary of State on lobbyists, employers and details on specific expenses from both groups.

Data from amended reports was ignored, and only the most recent filings were used. Filings of 48-hour reports of spending of $500 or more were compared with filings made on standard filing dates of Jan. 15 and May 15, and duplicates were removed.

Some caveats:

  • Detailed spending reports weren’t available for many filings made in May 2011.
  • Lobbyists’ employers are those listed in either 2015 or 2014.
  • Some lobbyist employer names have been standardized.
  • The recipients column in the detailed table features standardized committee and other names, with full names provided where they could be determined and some spelling errors corrected.
