Database: Lobbyist contributions 2013-April 2015

Print More

New Mexico In Depth received a database of lobbyist contributions from the Secretary of State’s office.

Names of candidates and campaigns were standardized, races or descriptions of political action committees were added. Also added were affiliations and whether candidates won or lost. In a handful of instances, it was unclear who received the contribution because only one last name was listed.

Often, the contributions were delivered on behalf of lobbyists’ clients. That’s typically the way candidates report such contributions. But not all lobbyists specify in their reports if a donation is on behalf of a client or what client is making the contribution.
