New Mexico In Depth asked lawmakers in November to share their individual capital outlay allocations between 2010 and 2015. We made the request after the Legislative Council Service told us that was the only way to access information about how they spent public funds under their individual control. Only current lawmakers were asked to provide their information. (If you’re a former lawmaker, you’re welcome to share with us by contacting Legislative Service Council.)
So far, 25 of 111 current lawmakers have done so. That amounts to almost $56.8 million of the $348 million individual lawmakers allocated between 2012 and 2015. There was no capital outlay bill in 2011, and no allocations for lawmakers in 2010. Search and sort through the data here.
